Beginning a Legacy

In the heart of diverse and impoverished communities, women faced the formidable challenges of poverty, violence, and limited opportunities. Through Daughters of God, their stories took a turn towards hope and transformation with the introduction of a groundbreaking initiative known as the Plan de Vida.

Send Me reached out to those in the darkest corners of poverty. We began by offering immediate relief through safe housing options, providing shelter and a foundation for stability.

A Plan Emerges

As families settled into their new homes, the program's comprehensive approach unfolded. Regular health check-ups and visits by social workers became the norm, fostering a culture of well-being.

Education emerged as a powerful catalyst for change. Send Me forged partnerships with the local municipality, the hospital and the police. Send Me offered scholarships, vocational training and financial literacy classes as stepping stones towards breaking their cycle of poverty and dependence.

A story of resilience and hope

Economic empowerment took center stage in the program's strategy offering family support so mothers could learn skills and earn a sufficient income. Send Me addressed immediate needs and also recognized the importance of healing and community support.

Unforeseen Turn

As we embarked on this journey, we encountered both successes and significant challenges that have prompted us to reflect and reevaluate our approach. It is crucial for us to be transparent about the obstacles we've faced, as we believe in learning from our experiences and continually improving our efforts.

Lessons Learned

Focus on willing participants, Black Flower Icon

Focus on willing participants

We acknowledge that our impact can only be as effective as the willingness of individuals to accept and actively pursue help. Moving forward, we aim to focus our resources on those who are genuinely ready for change.

Hire Qualified Talent

Recognizing the limitations of local resources, we understand the importance of bringing in sufficient resources and skills, particularly in trauma counseling, health, mental wellness, and social work. This involves hiring qualified professionals to address unique needs.

Revised Wellness Plan

In light of these challenges, we have shifted our initial focus within the Daughters of God program. Our priority is to bring in the necessary physical and mental health resources that we believe will serve as a foundation for any meaningful and sustainable change.

Rosa with her family, Daughters of God Participant, Send Me

From Struggle to Triumph

The stories of transformation we witness are a direct result of your belief in our mission.

Meet Rosa, a resilient woman who, along with her two children, Romero and Alondra, is celebrating a remarkable achievement— graduation! It's incredible to think that just 2 1/2 years ago (2021), they arrived at the Daughters of God property utterly broken, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Our mission community has had the privilege of ministering healing to Rosa and her family throughout their time with us.

Rosa and her family have learned forgiveness and self- sufficiency. Her children have learned how to read and write. Rosa felt a calling to take care of her ailing mother and had the confidence to move her family and start over. Rosa's journey, a testament to the transformative power of God's love and grace, sets the stage for the broader impact we are achieving together.
