Our Hope!

Joyabaj is burdened by the weight of poverty. Desperation spills onto every mountain. Being the hands and feet of Jesus, sharing hope and love with Kingdom values in the face of hunger and desperation sends the message of a God who is in touch with their reality. Hearts, hardened by the wear and tear of life's struggles crave tangible acts of kindness.

Jesus fed the hungry, healed the sick, and taught the masses. He was heaven on earth. He was irresistible to those who didn’t oppose Him.

James 2:15-17 convicted us: If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Isaiah 61 calls to us to be His hands and feet (Matthew 28:19-20; Colossians 3:23,24). What can we say but yes, Here am I, Send Me (Isaiah 6:8).

We want you to see Isaiah 61 reflected in our logo, our mission, our vision and our model of service. His heart is at the heart of all we do.

Send Me, Colourful Logo

The tree is a visual representation of Psalm 1:3. It is faith rooted and established. Every color tells a story, and every leaf whispers hope. Together, we stand as a living testament to the miraculous equipping and strength found in His rivers of living water.

  • Essence of Eternal Spring

    Guatemala has a nickname, the “eternal spring.” Joyabaj is cradled in its heart. Our logo symbolizes where we serve and the eternal life of those who drink from Christ’s living water (Psalm 1:3; John 4:14; Isaiah 61:1).

  • Rooted in Faith

    Rooted deep in the representative work of Christ, the tree, embodies provision, protection, strength, resilience, and the promise of a bountiful harvest in due season (Psalm 1:3; Proverbs 11:30; Isaiah 61:3).

  • Growth in Unity

    The intertwined tree trunk serves as a profound metaphor of restoration and unity between God and man. It reflects working together as one body, one Spirit, and one hope of our calling. (Isaiah 61:4; John 17:21; Philippians 2:2; Colossians 3:14; Ephesians 4:4)

  • Dawn of New Beginnings:

    As the sun rises in the top yellow circle, God’s glory and a daily promise unfolds. Faith brings the dawn of new opportunities, resilience to those once destitute, and an endless hope for growth and transformation. (2 Cor 5:17; Isaiah 43:19; Luke 1:78-79; Isaiah 61:2)

  • Blessings in bloom:

    In this eternal spring, timeless and divine, God's presence flows. The colors are the good fruit of the Holy Spirit blooming in those we champion. Yellow: happiness, joy and celebration; Light Blue: peace, liberty and hope; Purple: a royal priesthood, belonging to a heavenly kingdom; Pink: love, playfulness, compassion, and kindness; Orange: vitality, warmth, creativity and connection (Isaiah 61:3; Galatians 5:22, 23; Matthew 7:17)

  • Leaves of Purity:

    Verdant leaves stand out in our logo. Each leaf a testament to our stewardship of what God has provided. It is a commitment to serve responsibly being mindful of God’s holiness and creation (Matthew 5:8; Proverbs 22:11; James 3:17; 1 Peter 4:10; Psalm 24:1)

ISAIAH SIXTY-ONE

1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

2 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;

3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.

4 They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.
